OSF Medical Group receives Governor’s
Award of Excellence
The OSF St. Francis Hospital Medical
Group clinics in Escanaba, Gladstone and Powers received the 2005
Governor’s Award of Excellence for efforts to enhance patient care. This
prestigious award is given annually by the Michigan Peer Review
Organization (MPRO). This is the fifth consecutive year the Escanaba and
Gladstone clinics have received the award and the fourth consecutive
year for the Powers clinic. Award
criterion focuses on improving preventive health care services and
screenings and the management of chronic conditions, including coronary
artery disease, diabetes, heart failure and cancer screening for breast
and colon cancer. Preventive health care and early disease detection are
instrumental in improved patient care and lower health care costs for
Michigan residents. OSF Medical Group was honored for its efforts to
improve services relating to diabetes care.
“It is an honor to once again receive
this prestigious award as recognition of the tremendous dedication of
our physicians and staff in providing safe, quality care for our
patients,” said Mark Povich, D.O., medical director for the OSF St.
Francis Hospital Medical Group. “By improving preventive care and
increasing services, we are making a healthy impact on patients
throughout the Upper Peninsula.”
