Providing Perfect Care

OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group recently achieved top honors for our efforts to provide perfect care for the patients we serve. We were the first OSF member hospital to achieve the OSF Healthcare System goal for providing perfect patient care, which mirrors goals defined by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and are well above state and national averages for core measures in providing perfect care.

At OSF St. Francis, we measure hundreds of indicators for the four core measures defined by CMS: congestive heart failure, heart attack, pneumonia and surgical care. Indicators are reported on a regular basis to CMS, as well as Blue Cross, Blue Shield of Michigan and The Joint Commission. If we miss even one indicator in caring for a patient, we ‘fail' the case, according to CMS guidelines.

It is an honor to have been recognized for our efforts, which have involved staff at all levels, working together to provide the best care for our patients... every patient, every time.
